The SSC Selection Post 2026 notification (Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts) was released by the Staff Selection Commission on 13 April 2026 at ssc.gov.in. It invites online applications for Matriculation, Higher Secondary (10+2) and Graduate level posts in various Ministries, Departments and Offices of the Government of India.
Before applying, candidates must read the notice carefully and confirm that they meet the age limit, essential qualification (EQ), experience and category requirements of the post. Applications are accepted provisionally. The candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage if any claim is not supported by documents.

Each post code is a unique alphanumeric ID and carries three parts: Region Prefix + Serial Number + Year Suffix. For example, CR10126 means Central Region (CR), serial number 101, and year 2026 (26).

SSC Selection Post 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (As on 04-05-2026)
The educational qualification depends on the level of the post. The crucial date for possession of the essential qualification and experience is the closing date, 04 May 2026.

Experience, wherever prescribed, must be gained after completing the required educational qualification. Internship, training or research done while acquiring a qualification does not count as experience. Where proficiency in a specific language is required, the candidate must have studied it up to Matriculation level or must have it as the mother tongue.
Degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning by UGC approved Universities are recognised for Central Government posts, provided they hold valid UGC approval. Equivalence of qualifications is allowed only when the Recruitment Rules of the post permit it.

The crucial date for determining age is 01 January 2026. The age limit differs from post to post and is mentioned against each post in Annexure-III of the notice. The permissible ranges are given below.

Age relaxation is admissible only when the candidate applies against vacancies reserved for that category. The crucial date for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM status, fee concession and reservation is 04 May 2026. Relaxation is not given to sons, daughters or dependents of Ex-Servicemen.
Nationality
A candidate must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or specified East African countries with the intention of settling in India. Candidates in the latter categories must hold a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
SSC Selection Post 2026 Exam Pattern
The SSC Selection Post 2026 exam is a single-stage Computer Based Examination of objective type multiple choice questions. Separate examinations are held for Matriculation, Higher Secondary and Graduation & above level posts. The pattern is the same for all three levels.

Negative Marking: 0.50 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. The exam is conducted in Hindi and English only, and the medium selected in the application form is final.
Marks are normalized when the CBE is held in multiple shifts, as per the procedure published by SSC in its notice dated 02 June 2025. Candidates eligible for a scribe get 20 extra minutes per hour, making the total duration 80 minutes.

SSC Selection Post 2026 Selection Process
Selection to Selection Posts is based mainly on the marks scored in the Computer Based Examination. Thereafter, documents are scrutinised, prescribed skill tests are held, and document verification is done by the user department.

Shortlisting is done in the ratio of 1:30 for up to 5 vacancies and 1:15 for more than 5 vacancies (minimum 150), subject to minimum qualifying marks. All qualifying PwBD and ESM candidates are shortlisted for scrutiny against their reserved vacancies.
Candidates applying for posts of more than one level appear once for each level. A candidate who applies for several posts of one level appears only once. The candidature is provisional at every stage and any wrong information leads to cancellation.

No admit card is sent by post. Candidates who have not completed Aadhaar-based authentication must report 2 hours early with the admit card, two passport-size photographs and a valid photo ID. Candidates availing a scribe must carry the prescribed medical certificate.

The SSC Selection Post 2026 answer key will be released after the Computer Based Examination. Tentative answer keys are placed on the website, and candidates may submit online representations within the given time on payment of ₹50/- per question. Objections through letter, email or other modes are not entertained.
